Dr. Abdulaziz Sagr, Chairman of the Gulf Research Center, participated in a session titled "Preserving peace in light of
the outbreak of the emerging Coruna virus pandemic" at the seventh annual Stockholm Peace
and Development Forum, which was held by the Swedish Foreign Ministry and
Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Tuesday, 12 May 2020.
They discussed the opportunities and challenges facing efforts to maintain
peace in light of the pandemic.

The discussions were focused on the situation in the
Middle East and the challenges the region is facing in light of the current
situation of the Corona pandemic and the possibility of the European role in
bringing views closer
In it Dr. Abdulaziz
discussed the current security situation in the Gulf, the situation in Yemen,
the developments of the oil market and its importance for regional growth and
stability, as well as the potential impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic on
governments and societies in the Middle East
The 56th session of the conference, which was held in Munich, Germany, welcomed broad international participation that included heads of state and government,
foreign and defense ministers, senior leaders, and various politicians, military officials and intellectuals from numerous countries. The conference addressed security and international policy issues in addition to a number of developments in global affairs.
Dr. Abdulaziz Sager, Chairman of the Gulf Research Center, participated in a session titled “Iran in the Middle East: Is Diplomacy the Answer” which was part of the annual Sir Bani Yas Forum, which was organized by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and held in Abu Dhabi from November 15-17, 2019 Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and which included the participation of many foreign ministers from various countries in addition to senior officials, politicians and academic experts. The forum aimed to promote reflection and discussion on the region's most pressing issues.
