As part of day 3 of the Gulf In-Depth Executive Learning Program, Dr. Aisha Al-Sarihi, Research Fellow at the Middle East Institute (MEI) of the National University of Singapore (NUS), led an insightful session on “Oil, Gas, and Energy Markets in the Gulf.” The session covered the historical context, economic significance, and geopolitical factors shaping the Gulf's energy landscape. Dr. Al-Sarihi discussed OPEC's role in influencing global oil prices and supply, as well as the varying strategies of hydrocarbon production among Gulf countries. The #UAE aims to rapidly boost oil production, while Saudi Arabia focuses on long-term sustainability. Meanwhile, #Qatar is positioning natural gas as a transitional fuel, significantly expanding its LNG output. Additionally, Dr. Aisha explored the impact of decarbonization efforts on the region and the key factors driving fluctuations in oil prices and supplies.

As part of the activities for day 1 of the Gulf In-Depth Executive Learning Program, Dr. Abdulaziz Sager, Chairman of the Gulf Research Center, led the first session on "An Overview of the Historical Development of the Arabian Gulf." He presented a detailed account of the most significant developments in the Arabian Gulf region and the achievements of the Gulf Cooperation Council since its establishment four decades ago. Dr. Sager also reviewed the threats facing #GCC countries and strategies for addressing them.

The Gulf Research Center (GRC), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan @EmbassyArabia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, organized a roundtable meeting to celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 and Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 at the GRC’s office in Riyadh on October 7, 2024. Ambassadors from Central Asia, including the Republic of Tajikistan 🇹🇯 @TJ_Emb_KSA , Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 @UzbekEmb_riyadh , Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 @KyrgyzEmbKSA , and Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 @AzEmbRiyadh , participated in the roundtable. Experts from the Saudi business community also participated in the meeting.
