The Gulf Research Center’s mission is to contribute information and knowledge relating to the Gulf by providing a comprehensive, independent, and credible platform for advanced research on GCC politics, economics, defense, security, environment, and social issues and their implications and relevance.

In each of its research programs, it is the objective of the GRC and its extensive community of researchers and contributors to shed light on unexplored issues and relationships that are and will be of increased importance both for the Gulf region and the rest of the world.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Education and training sector, providing high-quality executive learning and training programs. These initiatives foster leadership development across all facets of public policy, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate complex policy environments. CONSULTANCY

Drawing on our network of experts and specialists, the GRC is able to provide consultancy services in a number of fields by conducting commissioned research studies on social sciences and economics within a Gulf context. Building on the work of our Research Department, the Center is capable of addressing a broad variety of research and consultancy topics, including:

  • Regional Security Issues including joint security and cooperative defense capabilities for the Gulf states
  • The Political Economy of the Gulf region, including investment, feasibility, marketing, performance studies, and research on economic relations and world trade
  • Energy and resource issues of primary relevance to the Gulf region, including oil and gas studies and research on electricity and water
  • GCC foreign and international relations
  • Arab world market intelligence
  • Sector analysis
  • Social and cultural issues at the heart of life in the Gulf region, including studies dealing with education, demography, media, history, and the role of women in modern-day Gulf societies
  • Project feasibility studies for the GCC countries and the Middle East region

EVENTS

GRC organizes high-level conferences, workshops, and roundtables that bring together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss critical issues affecting the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and its relationships with other regions. These events cover political and security issues, economic cooperation, energy, and social and cultural ties. GRC aims to foster dialogue, enhance understanding, and influence policy in the Gulf and beyond through these activities.

The GRC’s flagship event is its academic conference, the Gulf Research Meeting (GRM), held annually at the University of Cambridge, UK.

The Gulf Research Center (GRC) produces a diverse range of publications through its extensive research programs, projects, and the Gulf Research Meetings. These include reports, research papers, commentary and analyses, policy briefs, and edited volumes, all designed to offer comprehensive insights into key regional and global issues. GRC's publications are accessible to the public and can be found on the GRC website.
