Dr. Andreas Schild, director general, International center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in KathamanduNepal visited GRC to discuss possible cooperation in environmental issues

Ms. Mashair Ahmed Alamin and Ms. Rihad Hussain Shabo from the Society Studies Center in Khartoum, Sudan, visited the GRC. Talks about potential cooperation between the two institutions in the areas of training and research were initiated. The meeting was especially relevant as the GRC has launched its GCC-Africa research program and is organizing the Gulf-Africa Strategy Forum in Cape Town in February 2009.

On May 22 a group of Macquarie Capital Securities and other Australian fund managers visited GRC for a briefing about the GCC economies.

Nader Habib, Henry J. Leir Professor of Economics of the Middle East at Brandeis University in Massachusetts visited GRC to discuss future joint projects.

Fifteen final year students from the Department of Political Science at UAE University in Al Ain visited the Gulf Research Center and received a comprehensive briefing on international politics.
